ESIC Forwards Akuma Evidence | Potential CSGO Esports Betting Fraud

Esports Integrity Commission And Valve Background

Another betting fraud scandal in the CSGO industry. Why do people still think they can commit fraud and still get away with it, is out of my comprehensive reach. But, let’s not judge too quickly! Let’s kick things off slowly with a discussion about the alleged Project X and Akuma evidence of match-fixing betting fraud!

Akuma Evidence: Project X CEO Bet on His Team’s Matches

The Project X and Akuma evidence which ESIC forwarded to Valve revolves around the Project X CEO, Oleksandr Shyshko, and his involvement in betting activities on his team. The Akuma evidence was forwarded directly to Valve because the suspicious matches weren’t played on ESIC members’ events.

The most suspicious Shyshko’s bet was the accurate wager on EPIC CIS League vs. Akuma.

That’s the center of the ongoing investigation, and the basis behind the Suspicious Betting Alert Network which acquired the evidence.

“While ESIC has not undertaken a full investigation into the detail, extent, and validity of any particular instances of match-fixing behaviour and the perpetrators of such behaviour – information on hand would indicate that this is a matter worth investigating further,” the commissioner of ESIC, Ian Smith, explained in an ESIC press release.

These types of match-fixing allegation put esports betting in the news for all the wrong reasons! Luckily, the Esports Integrity Commission is doing what its name suggests! It’s not often times that we hear about Ian Smith and the ESIC, but once we do, it means they’ve been very busy!

Back to Akuma evidence of match-fixing betting fraud, it’s still way too early to give concrete information.

We do know that suspicious bets have been made, but it’s up to Valve and ESIC to investigate the matter further and reach a proper conclusion.

First steps have already been made, so we’ll definitely keep you posted if any updates emerge!
