After playing eight games in a 19-day stretch to open the season, No. 5 Duke Blue Devils returns home to play its first game in a week against Colorado State Rams at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils went 3-0 in the Maui Invitational but lost their last outing, an 85-63 drubbing to No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus.
The Blue Devils haven’t lost back-to-back games since February 2009. Colorado State is 5-3 and is coming off an 83-77 loss to Northern Iowa. Duke won the only previous meeting, a 67-57 victory in the opening round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament.

The Blue Devils have opened as 21-point favorites on SBG Global Sportsbook’s Live NCAA Basketball Odds.
Colorado State Rams (5-3): History suggests that Colorado State will need to play a perfect game if it hopes to compete against the Blue Devils, who haven’t dropped a non-conference home game since Feb. 26, 2000. The Rams have played two of their first eight games on the road. They lost both times, first to Stanford and then to Northern Iowa. Wes Eikmeier, a junior guard, averages a team-high 17 points and has scored 18 or more six times. He might need a career day against Duke for the Rams to have any chance at pulling off an upset.
Duke Blue Devils (7-1): The blowout loss against Ohio State was Duke’s worst in a regular-season non-conference game since 1995 and snapped a 35-game November win streak that dated back to 2006. It also left head coach Mike Krzyzewski befuddled, as he could offer few explanations in the aftermath of his team’s total collapse. Outside of Austin Rivers and Mason Plumlee, who combined for 38 points, no other Duke player reached double figures. Two starters, Ryan Kelly and Andre Dawkins, went scoreless. The Blue Devils allowed the Buckeyes to shoot 59 percent from the field, including 57 percent from 3-point range, so expect a better effort this time against the Rams.
1. Duke is 7-3 all-time against Mountain West teams.
2. The Blue Devils have won 39 straight home games, including 33 by at least 10 points.
3. Colorado State hasn’t faced an ACC opponent since meeting Duke in 2003.
